What to Expect
Your reflexology experience at Serene Steps is designed to feel calm, comfortable and thoughtfully tailored to you - whether this is your very first treatment or part of your ongoing wellbeing routine.
Before your session
Before your first appointment, we will take time to explore your wellbeing goals, relevant health history and whether reflexology is suitable for your needs. This helps ensure your treatment is both safe and thoughtfully personalised.
During your treatment
Reflexology treatments are carried out in a calm, private setting with you comfortably reclined. Treatments are usually performed on the feet, with shoes and socks removed only. If you would feel more comfortable with an alternative approach, hand reflexology may be available by request.
Your comfort matters
You are welcome to chat, ask questions, or simply enjoy the quiet and rest. Treatments should feel relaxing and supportive - never pressured or overwhelming. Your comfort is always respected.
After your session
Many clients leave feeling deeply relaxed, lighter, calmer or more restored. Where appropriate, personalised recommendations may be discussed, including whether follow-up sessions may be beneficial.
Who Reflexology May Support
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Reflexology is a complementary holistic therapy based on the principle that our body systems are mirrored on different areas of the feet and hands. Treatments are designed to encourage deep relaxation, support wellbeing and help the body find its natural rhythm again.
-
Reflexology should not be painful. Some areas may feel more sensitive than others, which can vary from person to person, but treatments are always adapted to your comfort. Many clients find reflexology deeply relaxing and restorative.
-
Comfortable clothing is ideal. Reflexology is usually performed on the feet and up to the knees, so only shoes and socks are typically removed. You will remain comfortably clothed throughout your session.
-
Appointment length will depend on the treatment selected. It is typically between 45 mins to 1 hour.
Initial consultation appointments allow additional time to explore your wellbeing goals, relevant health history and suitability before treatment begins.
Follow-up sessions and structured programmes are designed according to your chosen pathway.
-
Appointments take place from a private treatment space at Serene Steps Wellness Clinic in Sutton Coldfield, designed to feel calm, comfortable and restorative.
Parking is available on the driveway or on the nearby road, with plenty of local parking option for clients.
Selected mobile appointments may potentially be available by request depending on location and availability. Please get in touch.
-
Some clients book reflexology simply for relaxation and self-care, while others benefit from a more structured approach.
Where appropriate, personalised recommendations may be discussed following your consultation, including follow-up sessions, structured programmes or ongoing monthly wellbeing support.
-
Reflexology is suitable for many people, but there are some circumstances where treatment may need to be adapted, postponed or may not be appropriate at the time.
This may include certain acute illnesses, fever, infectious conditions, recent injury or surgery, some circulatory concerns, specific medical conditions, or stages of pregnancy depending on individual circumstances.
Your health history, current wellbeing and any relevant medical considerations will always be discussed before treatment to ensure reflexology is suitable and safe for you.
If you are unsure, please feel welcome to get in touch before booking.
-
Many people choose reflexology because they find it deeply calming and supporting during periods of stress, overwhelm or disrupted sleep.
Reflexology is not a medical treatment, but it may support relaxation, restorative wellbeing and nervous system regulation as part of a broader self-care approach.
-
Initially, appointments may be offered in selected settings depending on availability. Please get in touch to discuss.
-
If reflexology is not the right fit for your needs at the time, this will always be discussed openly and honestly.
